This was the first project that I supervised on site through to completion with JBA. Working as Design Consultant to the lead contractor improved my understanding of the different priorities harboured by each party in any construction project. The challenge of this was that while we were employed by the contractor, you still ended up acting as the conduit between them and the client.
The internal specification was pre-agreed when we came onto the job. Therefore our remit was to inherit the Tender information and ensure that it was delivered not only to the highest quality (given the priveliged location), but also comply with Building Regulations and the terms of the Grosvenor Estate, who maintain freehold of the building.
